ABOUT

This lover of Shostakovich, Ravel, Brahms, Chopin, St Saens, Tori Amos or Joni Mitchell, combines her delicate melodies and lyrics with raw poetry and deep orchestral colors.

It is first as an interpreter for the projects of others that Cathialine is known but she devotes very quickly exclusively to build her own music.

She develops hypersensitivity to sounds and classical instruments from childhood associated with epileptic manifestations caused by certain sounds.

Cathialine notices the physical benefits of certain instruments and in particular of the cello with which she will start a true fusional passion. Then, she decides to make it the central element of her songs.

It is no coincidence that she produced the EP Live Ferber Sessions in 2012, whose first single "Unfinished Four hands" is recorded with an ensemble of 6 cellos and a double bass, to evoke this undescribable sensory connection between the cello and her.

This disc recorded in the studio in live conditions then lays the foundations of his musical universe.

In her album Worship the Weakness published in 2016, Cathialine puts to music the noises and ghosts that

haunt her during her troubles but also composes vocal lines with lyrical flights as a counterpoint to this inner state that is more apparent in her lyrics.

Her new album Rue Charlot, live au coeur de Paris is a new step for her in her quest for an authentic and true sound. She chooses to publish the recordings of an outdoor concert as part of the Artemusica Paris chamber music festival, located rue Charlot, in the center of Paris.

The murmur of the city, cars, passers-by, dogs, musicians turning their scores, everything is carefully preserved and cultivated to give this record a lively and warm atmosphere.

We find the titles of his first two opus specially reorchestrated for string septet, vibraphone and percussion.

This album that Cathialine presented during an exceptional showcase at the Eiffel Tower on October, 2018, is available in digital via streaming and download.

Cathialine is working on the writing of a new album, the first extract of which will be released in the winter of 2020.
